Job Title: Nutrition Officer
Job Description:
- Support to the implementation and monitoring of nutrition activities in the Integrated Health and Nutrition Activities at clinic level including a special focus on behavior change communications for improved nutrition practices among Adolescents/Adolescent mothers and ensuring target beneficiaries of the project receive nutrition services.
Responsibilities
- Support the Technical Advisor in the assessment, preparation, and planning for implementation, working in partnership with State and LGA authorities.
- Lead on the implementation of the nutrition interventions for the program, ensuring technical resources required to have been factored into work-plans and budgets at the field level.
- Ensure program approaches and implementation are sensitive to cultural and gender dynamics.
- Conduct follow up monitoring of nutrition-related activities and document findings to feed into improved programming
- Support strengthening of information flow between State and LGA.
Capacity Building:
- Contribute to the development and/or adaptation of training materials.
- Facilitate on nutrition trainings in project locations.
- Lead on nutrition training needs assessment for HWs, CMs and program staff.
- Develop training plans for staff, counselor, health workers and community mobilisers based on identified needs.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Ensure timely collection, compilation, and analysis of quality data as well as production of quantitative and qualitative reports regarding nutrition activities in the Program.
- Ensure regular communication and sharing of lesson learned and challenges with the Nutrition TA and partners to inform implementation
- Work closely with the MEAL team under the TA to ensure that data are captured in a correct and accurate manner.
- Representation & Advocacy & Organizational Learning:
- Represent MdM in relevant Field level forums for nutrition in coordination with other SCI programs.

Hierarchical & Functional links:
- He/she works under the supervision of the Medical Supervisor in the clinic hierarchy and technically to the Technical Advisor.
- Because of the emergency relief nature of MDM’s work, working hours may be irregular and employees are expected to be flexible in their approach to working hours under emergency conditions.
- The employee shall respect Médecins du Monde – France’s schedule and Terms and Conditions of Engagement for National Staff and is expected to be available anytime in order to answer to an emergency situation and be flexible and available beyond normal working hours if requested.
