Job Title: Quality Control Officer

Job Purpose

• To ensure that all raw materials, in-process products, and finished animal feeds conform to nutritional specifications and safety standards through rigorous testing and process control.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct sampling and laboratory analysis of raw materials (e.g., maize, soybean, additives) and finished feeds.
• Perform proximate analysis: moisture, crude protein, fiber, ash, fat, etc.
• Monitor quality parameters during feed production to ensure batch consistency.
• Check physical properties of feed (e.g., pellet durability, color, uniformity).
• Inspect and validate supplier COAs (Certificates of Analysis).
• Track and document non-conforming materials and initiate corrective actions.
• Maintain lab equipment and ensure calibration schedules are followed.
• Assist with feed trials, new formulations, and product testing.
• Ensure compliance with NAFDAC, SON, and internal quality standards.
• Prepare QC reports and present quality data to management.

Requirements

• B.Sc / HND in Animal Science, Industrial Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related.
• At least 3 years’ experience in feed production or QC lab.
• Familiarity with feed mill operations and nutritional formulations.
• Proficiency in laboratory testing methods and reporting tools (e.g., Excel).
