The Purpose of this Scholarship
Devised by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the France Excellence Eiffel scholarship program serves as a mechanism to assist French higher education institutions in enticing top-tier foreign students for both master’s and doctoral programs.
This initiative is structured to educate forthcoming foreign leaders in key areas of study within the private and public sectors. It aims to foster applications from students in emerging countries at the master’s level and from both emerging and industrialized nations at the doctoral level.
AREAS OF STUDY
The France Excellence Eiffel scholarships encompass two primary disciplines and include the following seven fields of study for both Master’s and Doctorate programs:

EDUCATIONAL LEVELS
French higher education institutions endorsing candidates for the France Excellence Eiffel program commit to enrolling them in the following levels of study:
- Courses leading to a Master’s degree
- An engineering degree
- A doctoral program under joint supervision or co-direction of a thesis with a partner foreign higher education institution.
DURATION OF SCHOLARSHIP
Master’s Level: The scholarship is granted for:
- A maximum of 12 months for enrollment in M2
- A maximum of 24 months for M1 students
- A maximum of 36 months for an engineering degree.
Doctoral Level: The France Excellence Eiffel scholarship is awarded for a duration ranging from 6 to 36 months in France, starting from September 1 of the year the scholarship is granted, in accordance with the letter of award.
SERVICES PROVIDED
Master’s Level: Recipients of the France Excellence Eiffel scholarship at the Master’s level receive a monthly allowance of €1,181. Additionally, they benefit from direct payments for various services, including international transport, national transport, insurance, accommodation, cultural activities, etc.
Doctoral Level: At the Doctoral level, France Excellence Eiffel scholarship holders receive a monthly allowance of €1,700, along with direct payments for services such as international transport, national transport, insurance, accommodation, cultural activities, etc.
For both segments of the program, it’s important to note that tuition fees are not covered by the France Excellence Eiffel program.
How to Apply for the Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program
APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR THE FRANCE EXCELLENCE EIFFEL SCHOLARSHIP
STEP 1:
- Reach out to the Espace Campus France in your home country or the cooperation and cultural action department of the French embassy. These entities will provide guidance and advice on your study project.
- Connect with the international relations department of a French institution. You can do this by visiting its website, sending an email, or making a telephone inquiry to learn about the application process and deadlines. The choice of the school or university that aligns best with your plans to study in France is entirely yours.
Note: All French higher education establishments are eligible for application.
STEP 2:
Once you have selected a school that aligns with your academic goals:
- Ensure that the school accepts and endorses your application for the France Excellence Eiffel scholarship.
- The institution will then submit your application online via the Campus France website.
Please be aware that applications sent directly by students or foreign institutions will be deemed ineligible.
