Job Title: Marine Technical Superintendent – Offshore Support Vessels
Job Description
- Join our growing team in Nigeria as a Marine Technical Superintendent, responsible for the overall technical management and operational excellence of our offshore support vessels.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily maintenance, repairs, budgeting, survey scheduling, inspections, and dry-dockings
- Ensure vessels operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with Class, Statutory, and Company standards
- Maintain vessel classification status and ensure timely survey reporting
- Monitor and support onboard Planned Preventive Maintenance (PMS) for cost-effective operations
- Prepare accurate dry-docking specifications and supervise repairs to completion
- Liaise effectively with Masters, Chief Engineers, Class societies, repair yards, and sub-contractors
- Manage technical budgets, procurement of supplies, and installation of third-party equipment (e.g., Diving, ROV)
- Ensure vessel technical documentation and PMS records are up to date
- Conduct Chief Engineer appraisals at contract completion
- Participate in tender preparation and evaluation of repair yards and technical service providers
- Provide timely technical advice and support to onboard crew and clients regarding vessel performance
Requirements
- Hands-on sailing experience as a Chief Engineer on offshore support vessels – minimum 5 years
- Unlimited STCW ’95 Chief Engineer’s License (Motor) or an Engineering Degree / Diploma in Mechanics / Electromechanical Engineering
- Solid knowledge of Class and Statutory regulations, PMS implementation, and industry best practices (IMCA guidelines)
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
- Computer literacy and proficiency in technical reporting systems
- Strong budgeting and project management abilities.
