Job Title: Sanitation / CATI Team Leader
Responsibilities
- The Sanitation/CATI Team Lead is in charge of sensitization activities.
- Providing education and support on proper hygiene practices, such as hand washing and safe food handling.
- Distributing chlorine or other water purification methods to ensure safe drinking water.
Sanitation Improvements:
- Assessing and potentially improving sanitation facilities, such as latrines, to prevent fecal contamination.
- Addressing other potential sources of contamination, like improper waste disposal.
- Coordinate and participate in the logistical and administrative organization, planning and preparation of field operations.
- Identify local resources capable of helping in the preparation and accomplishment of the activities of SGDI
- Remain in touch with the population and local authorities to understand needs, complaints, and major events that may have an impact on the activities of SGDI
- Analyze the humanitarian situation, taking into account the production problems / Do No Harm policy for the population
- Apply safety & security procedures in field operations
- Present the population and local authorities with the nature of field operations
Conduct sensitization activities with beneficiaries:
- Taking into account the production problems / Do No Harm policy for the population
- Helping identify and train key persons regarding the sensitization themes
- Participate in the creation and monitoring of committees, and the training of its members
- Monitor and distribute sensitization activity reports
Reporting/communication:
- Take part in weekly program meetings and clusters on request
- Keep his/her monitoring tools and files archived in the SGDI office, accessible to project manager
- Draw up and submit a weekly task report (which should include progress made by the team) to his/her project manager
- Take part in the drafting of the monthly program pack
- Establish and maintain good relations with local participants and communities (populations) in the operational fields
- Listen to the populations and local participants in the field and report to his/her project manager any non-technical or safety-related issues which could affect the activities or safety of SGDI teams.
Requirements
Professional experience:
- 3 year of experience in similar position (NGO/Private or Public sector)
Technical Competences:
- Training: Minimum of ND in Civil Engineering, Water / Sanitation Engineering, Geology / Hydrology.
- Project related skills: good knowledge of the project cycle, project implementation, project follow-up.
Computer skills:
- good knowledge in CAD software (Auto CAD, Archi CAD, etc.), good knowledge in Excel, Power point and Word application.
