About the Role

• As the company expands operations in Kaduna, we are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Purchase Officer to join the team and support procurement and inventory functions critical to our mining projects.

Job Summary

• The Purchase Officer will be responsible for sourcing and procuring materials, equipment, and services essential to the mining operations. The ideal candidate will maintain vendor relationships, manage purchase orders, and ensure timely and cost-effective acquisitions in line with company standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Source reliable vendors and negotiate contracts for optimal pricing and quality.
• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
• Track and manage inventory levels to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Liaise with warehouse, finance, and operations teams to align purchasing with project timelines.
• Monitor supplier performance and resolve any delivery or quality issues.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other procurement activities.
• Ensure compliance with legal and ethical procurement standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in a purchasing/procurement role, preferably in mining or heavy industry.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar).
• Excellent organizational and record-keeping abilities.
• Knowledge of local and international procurement regulations is an advantage.
