Job Title: Mechanical Foreman

Job Summary

• We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Foreman to oversee mechanical maintenance operations at our beneficiation plant.
• The ideal candidate will supervise mechanical teams, coordinate maintenance schedules, and ensure the optimal performance of heavy mining and processing equipment.
• This role is critical to minimizing downtime and ensuring production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of mechanical technicians and fitters.
• Oversee maintenance, repairs, and installation of mechanical equipment such as crushers, mills, conveyors, pumps, and hydraulic systems.
• Implement preventive and predictive maintenance plans to reduce equipment failures.
• Ensure timely troubleshooting and fault diagnosis of equipment issues.
• Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance history and downtime reports.
• Enforce compliance with safety standards, company policies, and environmental regulations.
• Coordinate with other departments (production, electrical, planning) to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain stock levels of critical mechanical spares and consumables.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring mechanical failures and implement corrective actions.
• Train and mentor junior mechanical staff on best maintenance practices and safe work procedures.

Requirements

• Minimum of OND / HND / B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3 – 6 years of relevant experience in a mining, cement, or heavy industrial plant.
• Proven hands-on experience with heavy plant equipment and beneficiation machinery.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical drawings, hydraulic/pneumatic systems, and welding/fabrication practices.
• Ability to lead teams, manage schedules, and handle high-pressure operational environments.
• Good communication and reporting skills.
• Strong commitment to workplace safety and preventive maintenance culture.
