Job Title: Credit Analyst

Scope of the Role

• The Credit Analyst shall be responsible for evaluating the creditworthiness of individual and small business loan applications to ensure that sound lending decisions are made to minimize credit risk.
• This role plays a vital part in the loan approval process, supporting the growth of the bank’s loan portfolio while upholding prudent credit standards and regulatory compliance.
• The successful candidate will analyze financial information, assess risks, conduct field visits when necessary, and make recommendations based on detailed credit assessments and findings.

Specific Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive credit assessments for individual and MSME loan applicants.
• Analyze financial statements, cash flow, repayment capacity, and collateral.
• Assess the integrity, character, and background of applicants through interviews, references, and field visits.
• Prepare and present detailed credit appraisal reports and recommendations to the Credit Committee.
• Monitor and review active loan accounts to identify early warning signals or deteriorating credit quality.
• Work closely with the loan officers and relationship managers to support business growth while maintaining quality standards.
• Ensure all credit processes comply with internal credit policies, regulatory requirements, and risk management guidelines.
• Maintain updated credit files and loan documentation, ensuring completeness and accuracy.
• Provide feedback and guidance to loan officers on improving loan quality and customer selection.
• Assist in the periodic review and improvement of credit risk assessment tools and methodologies.
