Job Title: Business Development Officer
Role Overview
- We are seeking a strategic, highly driven, and experienced Business Development Officer to lead our Sales and Marketing Department.
- This role is a senior-level position responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive business growth, leading a team of Sales Executives, and ensuring all revenue and performance targets are met.
- The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years of experience in sales, marketing, and digital marketing, and should have previously headed a marketing or business development department.
- This is a leadership role suited for a dynamic and aggressive marketer who is result-oriented, innovative, and committed to delivering measurable success.
Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the Sales and Marketing team, ensuring alignment with the company’s goals and vision.
- Develop and implement strategic business development and marketing plans to drive client acquisition, sales growth, and market expansion.
- Set weekly, monthly, and quarterly targets for the sales team and ensure they are met or exceeded.
- Supervise and mentor Customer Support and services , monitor individual and team performance, and provide support to help them close deals and reach targets.
- Conduct regular sales meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions to strengthen team capabilities.
- Oversee and manage all digital marketing campaigns, including SEO, social media marketing, paid ads, content strategy, and analytics to generate qualified leads.
- Identify new market opportunities, partnership channels, and client segments to expand the business reach.
- Lead the preparation of compelling proposals, presentations, and sales pitches to win new clients.
- Coordinate with the customer service and support teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and high levels of client satisfaction and retention.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to continuously improve sales and marketing strategies.
- Prepare and present regular business development reports to executive leadership.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 5 years’ hands-on experience in sales, marketing, and digital marketing, with at least 2 years in a leadership or departmental head role.
- Proven track record of developing and executing successful sales and marketing strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage high-performing sales teams.
- Strong understanding of both traditional and digital marketing platforms.
- Highly aggressive in approach to market penetration and client acquisition.
- Excellent communication, leadership, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Google Suite, digital advertising platforms, and marketing automation tools.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: N250,000 – N350,000 / month.
