Job Title: Senior Manager, Clinical Services – Pediatrics & Adolescent
Job Code: CSU008

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as organization pediatrics and adolescent POC.
- Providing ongoing mentoring and supportive supervision to pediatric clinicians, assisting facility-based teams to develop/improve pediatric care systems, referral systems, adherence support systems, patient flow, medical records, etc.
- Serve as a resource for the evaluation of ongoing pediatric care and treatment programs, and in the subsequent development of new and/or expanded programs for the care and treatment of HIV/AIDS in infants, children, and teenagers.
- Strengthen linkages systems with PMTCT to ensure all live births of HIV infected mothers are enrolled into child follow up care and institute programs to identify HIV exposed and infected children including inpatient pediatrics testing programs, pediatrics HIV testing in adult clinics, linkages with other services.
- Ensure all HIV exposed infants receive qualitative HEI care via prompt enrollment of HIV exposed infants, tracking of defaulting mother-baby pairs, support for EID logistics and prompt enrollment of DBS positive infants into ART clinics.
- Work with state teams to expand Youth wellness centers and adolescence care packages Partner with vocational training institutes/ community-based organizations on skills acquisition for young people attending wellness centers.
- Develop and implement a Pediatrics transition program from infected children through adolescence to adults to improve pediatrics retention, positive adjustment and better quality of life.
- Provide oversight and leadership in the establishment and scale of the OTZ strategy.
- Work with the OVC team to provide integrated comprehensive Adolescent services.
- Lead the pediatrics surge strategy in collaboration with the PMTCT and OVC services units.
Qualifications & Experience
- MBBS / MD, Postgraduate Degree in Medicine or Master’s Degree in Public Health is an advantage.
- In addition, the post holder must possess at least 10 years post NYSC experience in implementing public health programs preferably in the NGO context. With at least 5 of those years in management level.
- At least 5 years working knowledge of the PEPFAR/CDC HIV programing in Nigeria, especially the pediatrics surge strategy.
- Substantial Experience in PMTCT will be an added advantage.
- An in depth understanding of national and international development issues in particular in relation to pediatrics and adolescent health and HIV.
- Previous experience in managing and developing a team and the ability to lead, motivate and develop others; excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; fluency in written and spoken English;
- Commitment to and understanding of the organization ’s aims, values and principles including rights-based approaches.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, as evidenced through previous work experience and results achieved; capable of effective and efficient development, management and tracking of large-scale projects.
- Superior partnering skills, exceptionally strong and highly effective working relationships with internal & external partners/stakeholders.
- Excellent leadership skills; can manage larger-scale teams, develop individual skills and abilities, while driving teams to meet or exceed targets & goals.
- Willingness to commit the next 3 years to the originization in this position will be an added advantage.
- History of loyalty and trust with proven integrity and ability to manage confidential information.
